1. Eligibility & Registration
The LBI 18 Mile Run and 12K Run/Walk are open to runners and walkers who are in good health and physically prepared to complete the distance.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older on race day.
Registration must be completed through the official event platform with full and accurate personal information.
Bib numbers and registrations are non-transferable. Anyone participating under another person’s name or bib will be disqualified.
The event reserves the right to deny or revoke entry for any reason, including rule violations, incomplete registration, or unsafe conduct.
2. Assumption of Risk & Waiver of Liability
Participation in this event is voluntary. All participants agree to the Waiver, Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Fundraising Agreement upon registration.
This includes acknowledgment of:
The inherent risks associated with road running events (falls, traffic, weather, collisions, etc.).
The participant’s responsibility to ensure they are medically fit to participate.
The release of liability against LBICC, the Township of Long Beach, the State of New Jersey, sponsors, organizers, and volunteers.
Agreement to indemnify and hold harmless all Released Parties.

3. No Refunds & Cancellation Policy
All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
The LBI 18 Mile Run & 12K are fundraisers for the St. Francis Community Center / LBICC, a charitable organization.
The event will be held rain or shine. There will be no refunds for:
Participant withdrawal, injury, illness, or scheduling conflicts
Weather events, including:
Nor’easters
Flooding
Tropical Storms or Hurricanes
National or Local Weather Advisories
Declarations of State of Emergency
In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions, the organizers may:
Postpone, cancel, or modify the event
Alter the course or convert to a virtual format
All registration fees will remain non-refundable and will be treated as a charitable donation to the St. Francis Community Center / LBICC.
4. Course & Timing
The race will start and finish at locations designated on the official course map.
Runners and walkers must remain on the marked course and follow all signage and directions from officials and volunteers.
Timing will be conducted by official race timers. Participants must wear their bib and timing tag properly on the front of their clothing.
Any deviation from the course, missing timing checkpoints, or receiving unauthorized assistance may result in disqualification.
Cut-off times will be enforced to ensure participant safety and road reopening schedules (specific times published on the race website).
5. Bibs & Identification
All participants must wear the official race bib visible on the front of their outermost garment.
·Bibs may not be altered, folded, or transferred.
Any participant found running without a bib, with a forged bib, or under another participant’s name will be disqualified.
6. Participant Conduct
All participants must behave in a respectful, sportsmanlike manner toward race officials, volunteers, and fellow participants.
Unsportsmanlike behavior, including harassment, verbal abuse, or interference, will result in disqualification and possible exclusion from future events.
Participants must comply with the instructions of law enforcement, race marshals, and medical personnel at all times.
The use of headphones is permitted but strongly discouraged for safety reasons.
No pets, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, or unauthorized wheeled devices are allowed on the course.
7. Medical Support & Safety
Medical personnel will be available on the course and at the finish area.
Participants must immediately stop if ordered to do so by medical staff or race officials.
Runners are responsible for their own medical condition and assume all risks of participation.
Emergency medical authorization is granted to the Event Organizers upon registration.
8. Bag Check & Prohibited Items
Only approved bags will be allowed in the start/finish area.
All bags are subject to inspection by security.
Prohibited items include:
Drones
Alcohol or illegal substances
Weapons or hazardous materials
Non-participant companions or strollers
Participants who fail to comply with security rules may be denied entry or removed from the premises.
9. Results, Awards & Timing Verification
Official results will be determined by the electronic timing system and verified by race officials.
Awards will be distributed to top finishers according to age and gender divisions as announced.
Appeals must be submitted in writing within 48 hours of results posting. All decisions by race officials are final.
10. Photography & Media Rights
By participating, runners grant permission for the use of their name, likeness, image, and voice in photos, videos, and other media for promotional and commercial purposes, without compensation.
Unauthorized commercial photography, filming, or drone usage is strictly prohibited.
11. Tax Disclosure & Deductibility
The St. Francis Community Center / LBICC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Tax ID (EIN): 22-2003458
Race registration fees support community programs and may not be fully tax-deductible.
Participants should consult their tax advisor for deductibility determination.
12. Acknowledgment of Agreement
By registering for and participating in the LBI 18 Mile Run or 12K Run/Walk, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to all terms stated in this Policies, Rules & Regulations document, as well as the Waiver, Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Fundraising Agreement.
